The current draft of the Waxman/Markey bill is just not good enough! It does not adequately address global warming, fails to encourage true economic and energy security for Americans, and continues the transfer of wealth from taxpayers to the fossil fuel industries. The good news is that the debate is not over yet… it is in the hands of the Senate now. We must use our collective energy and influence to overpower the fossil fuel lobbyists and demand that our Senators fix the bill and put America on a truly sustainable path! 

Update on American Clean Energy and Security Act 

As you have heard, The American Clean Energy and Security Act (ACES) passed the House of Representatives on June 26th by a very narrow vote of 219-212. 

The bill now goes to the Senate. Senate leaders have said that it will not be voted on until the fall because they want to tackle health insurance over the summer.
