Press Conference and Zombie Rally
On Friday, August 5th, SOCM members in coalition with public interest organizations and concerned citizens dedicated to healthy and sustainable Valley communities will gather in Market Square at 4:30pm est to raise awareness of the financial, environmental and public safety risks associated with TVA’s proposal to restart construction of the nearly 40-year-old nuclear reactors at its Bellefonte Nuclear Facility in northeast Alabama. The TVA Board of Directors plans to vote on this proposal at the August 18th Board meeting. Join us for a press conference and demonstration to follow.
