Roaring River Chapter Meeting
Our first focus is on the Tennessee Climate Action Campaign (TCAT). This joint effort with the Sierra Club, the Tennessee Alliance for Progress, and the Tennessee Environmental Council is focused on maximum participation in the improved TVA home energy audit program and advocacy with TVA to adopt a 1%+ year over year annual target for energy efficiency savings.
We will discuss how we can each save energy and money and TVA will not have an excuse to build more nuclear plants and can retire more coal plants.
Join us to learn the latest news on climate change and how TCAT can help us get on a better path to climate stability.
We will also look at new bills for 2012 including the Governor's bill on water protection, reorganizing Boards & Commissions, reducing the food & inheritance tax, the effects of budget cuts.
(Next meeting we can look at implementation of the heath insurance exchanges (marketplace) under the Affordable Care Act.)
